Heavy-Duty Construction

The all-welded 74R5441N flammable storage cabinet features 18-gauge steel. The double wall construction includes 1-1/2 inch of air space. This insulating air space offers fire resistant protection for the stored items. The full length continuous door hinges make for a smooth opening and closing while maintaining the door alignment. The slam-action closing mechanism uses a 3-point stainless steel bullet latching system. Our paddle handle design allows for easy fingertip operation. The black finish on this flush-mounted handle also helps it visually stand out. Use the built-in cam lock with 2 keys to secure your flammable safety cabinet. Increase the security of your cabinet when you add your own padlock to the hasp on the paddle handle. The all-welded assembly of this cabinet means it ships ready to use. Just set the cabinet in place and you are ready to get organized.

Self-Closing Door

Some states or locales follow either the International Fire Code or NPFA 1 Uniform Fire Code. These codes require the use of self-closing doors. The 74R5441N flammable storage cabinet features a self-closing door. These doors have a manual latch with a fusible link. The steel latch holds the door open while in use. The wide open door gives workers full access to stored items while they work. As soon as room temperatures reach 165°F the latch automatically releases and the door closes to protect the items inside.

Safety Features

Lyon kept safety in mind when designing all aspects of the 74R5441N flammable storage cabinet. Each cabinet includes two screened flame arrester vents on either side of the cabinet; one high and one low. Vent plugs come installed but can be removed if connecting to a ventilation system is required. The threaded vents accept a 2-inch pipe for external exhaust. Be sure to deter the buildup of a static charge by adding a grounding wire to the built-in ground wire connection. The four leveling legs below the cabinet also help make these yellow flammable cabinets level to help prevent spills. When a spill occurs, the 2-inch-high leak-proof bottom pan helps keep spilled items from leaking out.

All of our safety storage cabinets for flammable liquids feature a powder coat finish that will stand up to harsh use. Lyon follows the industry standard for color coding a yellow safety cabinet for flammable materials. The bright safety yellow flammable storage cabinet helps emergency response teams quickly find and know the contents of the cabinet. A label on the door also warns that the items inside could be flammable. A second label notes how many gallons can be safely stored inside.

Adjustable Cabinet Shelves

The 74R5441N flammable storage cabinet also includes one steel shelf. Lyon makes these ribbed shelves of heavy-duty galvanized steel. Any spilled or leaked fluids will be able to collect in the open spaces of the shelf. This shelf has a load capacity of 350 lbs. These shelves can be adjusted on 3-inch centers without tools. Simply slide the shelves over the notched sides where needed. This lets you easily change your shelf spacing when your needs change. Increase your storage options by adding more Shelves. To resist aggressive chemicals, you can also add Polyethylene Shelf Trays. These 2-inch-deep trays offer additional protection with slightly raised curved edges to contain spills.
