Lyon’s hood storage rack is an economical solution for a variety of automotive storage needs. These racks come with 2 levels allowing you to set them at heights to meet your storage needs. The additional beams provide a place to lean items up against in either storage bay on the rack. We offer these metal boltless racks with a durable powder coat finish available in Dove Gray. The paint finish will help protect your storage rack from everyday use.

WHAT ARE HOOD RACKS?

Lyon designed these storage racks to help store bulky items such has hoods and doors. Body shops and dealerships need to store expensive items in a way to keep them safe until they are used. These racks allow you to create larger spots so you can you can store larger items. This will allow you to have dedicated slots for each item so that they don’t accidently rub on each other which can dent or scratch the paint finish. The large openings will make it easy to access the items when you need to get them.

ANGLE POSTS

We make the uprights for our hood racks out of 14-gauge steel. Each of our storage racks include four angle uprights. These posts feature keyhole slots so as to hold the rivet rack beams in place. Steel beams drop into the slots of the uprights to create a sturdy and rigid structure. Upright posts are available in a 96″h size.

DOUBLE RIVET BEAMS

Our 14-gauge medium-duty beams feature double rivets. This double rivet design creates rigid assembly as well as added strength. The double rivets easily slide into the keyhole slots on the uprights. These hood racks include the beams necessary to create 2 levels. Each level consists of two width beams coupled with two depth beams. The 60″d hood storage rack includes front-to-back center supports help minimize beam rotation when supporting heavy loads. The levels easily adjust on 1-1/2-inch centers. Because of our design, these racks have an overall weight capacity of 1,000 lbs per 48″d level and 800 lbs per 60″d level. Since the beams install without tools it’s easy to adjust your level spacing when your storage needs change.

DECKING

Lyon hood racks come with either particle board decking or wire decking. Particle board decking is 5/8-inch thick and will be pre-cut to fit your storage rack levels. Particle board decks are a durable and economical option for a hood storage rack. We make the galvanized flat wire decking from a 6-gauge wire mesh. It features support channels to help with heavy loads and sits flush on the beams.

ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION

Our hood racks assemble easily without tools. Lyon strongly recommends that all storage racks be properly anchored. Make sure your metal storage racks are installed plumb and level before anchoring them to the floor and/or wall. Use the Rivet Rack Foot Plates and Wedge Anchors to anchor your posts to the floor.
