Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout and perform all required operations to install, maintain and repair a variety of production machines, other equipment and apparatus used in various departments within the facility.
  • Perform necessary repair on hydraulic systems, water, air and gas lines, repair to motors and controls.
  • Diagnose trouble, disassemble and determine extent of repairs necessary, requisition or make-up repair parts, assemble, test, align and adjust.
  • Perform welding, sheet metal and machine tool operations when required in repairing equipment.
  • Lubricate a variety of equipment such as motors, machines, conveyors, pumps, trucks, etc.
  • Perform had operations in fitting parts. Make simple sketches of machine parts when required.
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine operations and repair requiring skill and ability to tear down and reassemble mechanisms.
  • Knowledge and understanding of proper leverages, gearings, fits, adjustments and tolerances of various moving mechanisms such as clutches and brakes are necessary to ensure satisfactory operations.
  • Responsible for proper use of machine or hand tools, repair and adjustment of machines to prevent damage.
  • Responsible for proper repairs, correct replacement parts and checking work completed to prevent excessive costs.
  • Responsible for careful handling of tools and materials and the operation of machine tools to prevent lost time injury.
  • Perform general plant maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Able to read, write and follow instructions including the ability to read electrical schematics and machine diagrams/drawings.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Previous manufacturing experience required.
  • General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Achieve management established quotas and perform other specific assignments as directed by the Vice President of Industrial Sales.
  • Develop a yearly sales plan including an account and situation analysis by market. This plan will establish specific objectives to partner with individual distributors, OEM’s and system integrators.
  • Experience selling through a GSA contract and selling into the Federal Government.
  • Experience selling through national distributions, i.e. Grainger, Fastenal, Motion Industries, etc.
  • Expand upon existing distribution, as well as seek new dynamic distribution.
  • Manage time and territory to maximize market penetration and territory coverage.
  • Manage, train and motivate dealer/distributor salespersons to become familiar with Lyon products. These procedures include conducting meetings, both formal and informal, as well as making joint calls with these salespersons.
  • Comfortable traveling 50-75% within territory.
  • Maintain a home office.

Qualifications and Skills

  • College degree or equivalent in business experience or sales experience in a related field.
  • Engineering aptitude is desirable.
  • Minimum of one year of proven business experience and basic computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be physically capable of and willing to drive and maintain their car.
  • The following traits are essential to the successful candidate: self-motivation, possession of communication skills, initiative, dependability, co-operative spirit, attention to detail and a desire to achieve goals.
  • CAD or SketchUp a plus
  • Experience working through distributors a plus.

  • Responsible for setting up and cutting sheet metal to required dimensions.
  • Requires lifting/ positioning heavy material.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and measure (tape measure) for overall quality
  • First piece and last piece inspection and every 20th piece (first piece, 20, 40, 60, etc. and the last one)
  • Fill out a green tag for EVERY work order

  • Use sketches, blueprints, specifications, and models to plan operations for the fabrication of dies, tools, and assemblies, ensuring safety and maximum efficiency
  • Verify dimensions of finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers and micrometers
  • Utilize hand and machine tools to assemble parts of tools and dies and to repair and modify gauges, jigs, and dies
  • Design templates and jigs to be used as work aids for convenient fabrication of products and parts
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and perform repairs on tools, manually operated dies and progressive dies
  • Interface with external and internal customers, handle supplier and customer concerns, and work with team members to solve problems during the production process
  • File and finish workpieces using the appropriate hand tools to ensure products are smooth and that they fit together properly
  • Select the appropriate metals and materials to be used based on properties, ensuring they meet project specifications
  • Fabricate dies using complex machinery such as drill presses, lathes, grinders, and milling machines
  • Required to stand, walk, crouch, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, and controls.
