Full Job Description

Responsible for purchasing goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.

Specific Duties

  • Works with manufacturing and outside vendors to purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Supports the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicates any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
  • Provides analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
  • Reviews opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Prepares purchase orders and order schedules.
  • Prepares reports and updates as required.
  • Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, and delivery or invoice issues.

Managerial and Supervisory Responsibility

  • None.

Position Qualifications

  • Two to three years experience in purchasing
  • Experience in working closely with suppliers.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, responsible, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines

Responsible for performing assembly operations on a variety of fabricated pieces.

Specific Duties

  • Performs repetitive assembly operations on a variety of fabricated pieces such as lockers and cabinets
  • Must snap various pieces into place and fasten others with screws, nuts, bolts, rivets, and various types of hardware.
  • Use screwdriver, hammer, pliers, wrenches, riveting gun and/or electric drill as required
  • Must be able to work from supervisor demonstration or approved sample
  • Check pieces for proper fit, assembly and finish

Position Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to work from orders
  • Able to stand and use hands for long periods of time up to 8 hours. May be required to crouch, bend, push and pull. Light to medium physical effort in moving parts and completed lockers or cabinets. May move product up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention assembling, fitting, and checking work
  • Ability to use screwdriver, hammer, pliers, wrenches, riveting gun and/or electric drill
  • Ability to work independently and safely
  • Mechanical aptitude would be a plus

Responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock and other.

  • Receive shipments
  • Load and unload trucks as required

  • Box, wrap and pack product in accordance with relevant procedures
