The open lateral cross brace includes all the parts you need for stabilizing the back of an 8000 series industrial open shelving unit. Our Open Steel Shelving creates the ideal storage solution for packaged stock and other material where high visibility is a concern. Lyon’s 8000 series is ideal for use as either warehouse or commercial steel shelving. Because of our design, you can easily swap out damaged 8000 series shelving parts with ease. We offer our 8000 series steel Shelving Components with a durable powder coat finish available in Dove Gray. The powder coat paint finish will help protect your Steel Shelving from everyday use.

Open Shelving Lateral Cross Brace

Lyon makes the 8000 series open lateral brace out of 12-gauge steel. We punch each end of the metal shelf cross brace so it can easily bolt to a T-Post Upright. These metal shelving braces fit open shelving units. The lateral cross brace provides side to side stability while preventing lateral sway.

Assembly and Installation

The open lateral cross brace ships unassembled and installs easily in the field. Easily attach the cross brace to the back of your 8000 t-posts using the keyhole slots. this cross brace includes the necessary nuts and bolts for attaching to your uprights. Be sure to also include side braces with your shelf installation for maximum stability.

Even with the open lateral cross brace, Lyon strongly recommends that your 8000 series steel shelving be properly anchored. Make sure to install your uprights plumb and level before anchoring it to the floor and/or wall. Use the Upright-to-Floor Angle and a Concrete Wedge Anchor to anchor your uprights to the floor. Anchoring your 8000 series shelving helps to prevent tipping.
