Description
Lyon’s molding rack is ideal for the storing of long, fragile auto body items. We built this rack using our 2000 series shelving. Units are bolted front-to-back to create a single 72″ deep rack. Use them to store long items you can store flat. This type of rack is ideal for fragile parts that are awkward to store with either traditional racks or shelving. We offer these storage racks with a durable powder coat finish available in Dove Gray. The powder coat paint finish will help protect your shelving from everyday use.
OPEN SHELVING UPRIGHTS AND BRACES
Each molding rack comes with 12 angle post uprights. Lyon roll forms the angle posts from 14-gauge steel for extra strength. Both the side and back sway braces are made of 12-gauge steel. The cross brace on the back helps prevent lateral sway. Both the side and back braces give this steel shelving unit the support and stability it needs.
ADJUSTABLE STEEL SHELVES AND DIVIDERS
The molding rack includes 30 medium-duty shelves. Our 22-gauge medium-duty are ideal for storing items such as body parts for cars and trucks. The patented box design of our industrial metal shelves provides added strength in both the front and rear of the shelf. The lapped and welded corners provide extra strength and durability.
Each shelf also includes four shelf clips. Simply set the clips at the desired height and set your shelves in place of your molding rack. Easily adjust the shelf clips on 1-1/2-inch vertical centers. Since the clips install without tools it’s easy to adjust your shelf spacing when your storage needs change.
Our molding rack also includes 50 sliding dividers. This will easily let you organize your items by creating a space for each item. This will help protect fragile auto body parts by preventing them from rubbing against each other.
ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION
The molding rack ships unassembled. This 5 shelf steel shelving unit assembles easily in the field. We include all the hardware to assemble the 3 shelving units and then bolt them together front-to-back. Lyon strongly recommends that each steel shelving unit be properly anchored. Make sure to install the shelving units plumb and level before anchoring it to the floor and/or wall. This package includes foot plates so all you will need are enough Concrete Wedge Anchors to anchor your uprights to the floor. Anchoring your racking helps prevent tipping and allows you to take full advantage of the weight capacities.
